Who is Dean J. Pompilio?

Mr. Pompilio is the President and founder of SteppingStone Solutions, Inc.  He formed the company in 2000 and began focusing upon IT and cybersecurity consulting.  His IT career began in 1989.  He has worked for several Fortune 500 companies, in addition to several large multi-national financial institutions.  These companies include Motorola, Bank of America, Capital One, and the World Bank.  He previously held a Top Secret security clearance while working as a Sr. Security Engineer at the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of State.

Mr. Pompilio began teaching IT and cybersecurity certification courses in 2011.  He has trained thousands of IT professionals, government employees, and military personnel in dozens of countries around the world.  Mr. Pompilio was also an adjunct professor at the University of Charleston, WV.  He is highly rated by his students for his comprehensive experience in the IT field, his vast knowledge of cybersecurity, and skilled guidance relating to risk management.  His students are expertly prepared for certifications from CompTIA, EC-Council, ISACA, and ISC².

In addition to providing training, Mr. Pompilio began creating custom curriculum in 2012.  His products include traditional courseware, online training content, and on-demand video classes.  He has produced highly-rated content for several prominent training platforms, such as Cybrary, OpsGility, and Drip7.

Mr. Pompilio has acquired extensive experience in Windows and Linux systems administration, network engineering, firewall engineering, security engineering, and penetration testing.  In addition to technical skills, he also has expertise in the development of IT policies and procedures, risk management, and business process re-engineering.
